Room For Improvement
The retractable cord feature has never worked properly since the day I first used it. Although the cord was tightly in when first received, it has never fully retracted since then. The fold out handle is so tough to unfold that it feels like the flimsy plastic housing is about to break everytime I do so. This model doesn't come with a concentrator nozzle, yet, the heat apparatus is as close to the opening as it was on my old Conair hair dryer. The heat opening is just slightly smaller than the Conair dryer that I replaced so, unfortunately, I am not able to reuse the old concentrator nozzle on this new machine. Instead I have to hold it far from my hair so as to be sure not to burn...increasing my dry time substantially. I gave the product 3 stars because the cord does partially retract, the handle does fold, and it is compact...all as advertised. You get what you pay for at a discount price! I would not purchase this product again and I would not recommend it to friends or family.

Replaced previously defective dryer
This model came as a replacement to my previous better model that was discontinued. The last model ran 2 years. This one ran for one and the cord retract worked 50% of the time, just avoid these, even at the price point.

Have problems with it
I bought this hair dryer 6 months ago and at first it was great. Good power , easy to hold and direct on my hair. But recently it seems the engine or motor is dying. It only stays on for 30 seconds and even when I reset it, it has to be turned off for a half hour before I can use again for anotherv30 seconds. I don’t have the receipt any longer so can’t return. My last Conair dryer lasted years, disappointed

Big Mistake times 3!!
I purchased 3 of these hair dryers as Christmas, birthday and Mother's Day gifts last November. The first lasted about a 5 weeks before dying. The second has only been in use for 1 week, so my fingers are still crossed but I am not hopeful, The third has not been opened yet so the jury is still out. Cannot recommend this product to anyone..

Do not recommend
This is the second one I've gotten, they replaced the first one because it started sparking and stopped working. Now this one stops working after using it. If I turn it off It won't turn back on for at least 10 mins.

Cord rewind is easily messed up by cord twisting
I bought a cord-keeper dryer of this basic model number several months ago. I love the controls, the weight and how quickly it dries my hair. But from day one I found out that is so easy to create a twist in the cord inside the dryer handle because of the various ways I hold the dryer to dry my hair as I like to. I found that when the cord was twisted inside the dryer handle the cord would retract only about halfway. I had to pull the cord almost all the way out and make a guess as to which way to turn the cord to undo the twist in the dryer handle. (How did I know the cord was twisted? I am a mechanical engineer and gave some thought as to how the rewind mechanism must work and how limited the space was for storing the cord and a twist in the cord was the simplest thing I could come up with that would cause more space to be taken up resulting in problems for limited space for the remainder of the cord.) I pulled the cord out almost all of the way and turned the cord in one direction and tried to rewind the cord and it rewound with no problems. But there have been times when the cord got twisted and I turned the cord in one direction and made the problem worse. So now I had to start all over and turn the cord two times in the other direction. and the rewind went great. I have learned how pull out the cord, to pass the dryer from one hand to the other for drying the hair on my head and for drying the hair and joints on parts of my body most of the time. But at least 1 time out of 3 I still need to turn the cord at the base of the hande befor a successful retraction can be made. This is a really bad design. I have thought of a design correction could be made but it would have to be tested and refined ($$$$) before being added to the dryer which would increase the cost (¢¢) of manufacturing and the cost (¢¢) of the final product. And it is a cat eat cat world out there.

Compact and Powerful
I really like the drying powder this hairdryer has. I have long hair and my hair drying time is less than 5 minutes! The retractable cord and the bendable handle make it easy to store in a drawer or pack in a suitcase for travel. A very neat and powerful hairdryer you won't regret purchasing!

Conair Cord-Keeper 1875
This is a great idea with horrible performance. I purchased it purely for the compact storage and travel features and the cord never stows away without a fight. $30 bucks is a reasonable price and the product should function properly.

Frustrating and Disappointed
I've owned this model of Con-Air for a number of years and it very recently started having issues (would not reliably start. Would try a different electrical socket and it would work, then it stopped altogether). Considering how much I liked the product, I was happy to find it again and order a replacement. While it is a little lighter in weight and quieter in sound (both appreciated), the cord does not retract well at all. It did retract completely the first few times and now - after only having this for a month or so and using it only a couple of times a week - it only retracts about half. The retracting feature is why I bought it which is why I rate this at, at best, a three. Also, there is no obvious way to 'collapse' the dryer down into it's original in-the-box compact shape. I expected there to be a button or trigger of some kind, but there isn't. I'm afraid to keep trying to force it as I don't want to break it. Another disappointing feature.
Outside of that, it really does work great and I still like it. Just not sure for how long.

Nice lightweight hair dryer
The features of the hair dryer are very nice and it’s lightweight. If you’re looking for a good retractable cord, mine does not fully retract most of the time. The cord retracts about 2/3 of the way which is okay for my needs.
